Wine arrived safe and sound yesterday. Just opened Colin's 2009 Chassagne-Montrachet. It is terrific. - Ed Bengelsdorf (Member, CT)
Hi Madina, thanks for the message! I recently have tasted Faurie's St Joseph, which I really enjoyed - and to honest, I am not a huge Rhone guy. My first bottle of Cote Rotie was slightly madeirized, but I still have another bottle which I hope to taste this week. The Burgundies, both white and red, have all been outstanding, of course. Thanks for all of your help and recommendations. - Jeffrey Johnson (Member, NE)
Will pop a bottle of 2007 Vosne-Romanee upon arrival...think I'll try with suggestion of roasted chicken! Will give my impression...going to aerate first, which is what I have not been doing (still learning). - Christine Keggins (Member, MD)
Well, last night we had the Cotes du Rhone, Jaufrette and I am shocked... I was skeptical about an 2004 being too old, WOW that wine must have been just shipped form the winery's cellar to yours, it's in incredible shape! It has nice white pepper with beautiful soft aged fruit a steal for $15!!! - Wayne Coultas (Member, NY)
I can thank Mike and Madina and Voix de la Terre for my newfound appreciation for Burgundian wines. - Greg Werlinich (Member, NY)
To be honest, I haven't had an opportunity to taste many of the wines (I know, I know - where are my priorities!), but those that I have - Drouhin-Laroze Rose '09 and Rossignol-Fevrier Volnay Vieilles Vignes '09 - have been excellent. The Volnay was just perfect with a roasted chicken... Jeffrey Johnson (Member, NE)
Thanks Madina, the site is gorgeous, nicely done and the content is delivered in a straight forward and unobtrusive manner that is beneficial to anyone trying to navigate the site. The search function is perfect. I've got to admit, it's quite a challenge to not watch each and every video of the tasting notes while I'm working! (bad girl). - Colleen Hughes (Member, NY)
Madina: what a lovely assortment you have put together for us, thank you! And we got all wine into the wine refrigerator. We tasted Colin and Mikulski - both delicious. Rick and I enjoy a bottle every night, we look forward to tasting the rest of the wine. - MJ & Rick Wolfe (Member, NY)
Dear Madina and Michael, I would like to thank you both again for an absolutely tremendous evening! Being in such good company with the wonderful wines of Burgundy and to meet and listen to Allen speak about Burgundies first hand was a night I will not soon forget. I thank you for your generous hospitality and the gift of a lifetime. - Colleen Hughes (Member, NY)
Michael & Madina, just wanted to let you know that we had a bottle of the 2007 Chevalier-Montrachet, Philippe Colin this weekend. It was the best white we'd ever tasted, and not in an over-the-top, audacious sort of way. Every aspect seemed perfectly coordinated: the acidity, the minerality, the fruit, the oak, the mouthfeel...It was worth every penny! - Jeffrey Johnson (Member, NE)
VDLT not only sells wines, it provides a perfect opportunity for wine lovers to have a unique and special experience touring the Burgundy and Rhone regions of France. - Martin Neidell (Member, NY)
Madina: I had a few of the wines I purchased all were awesome!! 2008 Chassagne 1er Cru Les Chenevottes was very complex and shows how Chardonnay can shine!! I love the Vacqueyras, it's very rich and dense and still had tons of life left!!! Looking forward to trying more of your wines, My girlfriend doesn't like french wine...after trying your wines...we now have a convert!!! - Wayne Coultas (Member, NY)
